Martin Greenland attended Exeter College of Art from 1982 - 1985 and on graduating was awarded a First Class Degree in Fine Art. In 2000 he won the GCI Financial Purchase Prize at the prestigeous Discerning Eye Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London. This was followed by a commission in 2003 to paint a picture of the newly rebuilt Paternoster Square which was presnted to the Lord Mayor of London and now hangs in The Mansion House.

 

The year 2006 saw him winning First Prize In the John Moores 24 Competition, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Greenland was also North of England Prize Winner of the Discerning Eye in 2013, and a Finalist In the Cumbria Life Culture Awards Visual Artist of the Year in 2015.
