Lilia Orlova‑Holmes (b. 1968) is a British-based painter originally from Eastern Europe and now living and painting in Kent. With more than three decades devoted to her practice, she embarked on her creative journey by studying at the Krasnopresnenskya School of Art and the Stroganov College of Applied Arts in Moscow from 1987 to 1992. Her early years in that rich cultural environment grounded her in fine art traditions and nurtured her profound connection to nature.
Her artistic path took a defining turn when she relocated to Kent in 2012. Lilia famously sought solitude and total immersion in her work, spending six to seven hours a day painting, caring for her small family, and tending to her garden, while long walks helped her attune to natural rhythms. This blend of solitude and nature has been foundational to her creative life.
Lilia's first exhibition took place in London in 1993, organized by friends at The Riverside Studios, marking the start of her professional exhibition career. Since then, her work has been featured at major art fairs and included in prominent art publications. Her paintings have found homes in hundreds of private collections across the UK, Europe, and beyond, reflecting her international appeal and the expressive vibrancy of her vision.
