Sometimes it’s a process that flows, but more often it’s an all-engaging wrestle; gaining, losing
and then re-gaining control of the painting over a period of time.
Julia's paintings sell internationally and she exhibits in Manchester and Edinburgh as well as with us here in the North Cotswolds. Her work was hung at the Royal Academy of Arts London in 2020 and she has had work selected by the juror Jack Fischer of the Jack Fischer Gallery, San Francisco, to be part of the 2022 Art2Life International Juried Art Exhibition.
Julia qualified as an Architect in 1999, has worked with architectural practices in London, Munich and Sydney and, before turning to painting full-time in 2020, taught architectural design to undergraduate students at Kingston, Liverpool and Manchester Universities for many years.
Julia works from a purpose-built studio at the end of her garden in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.

Central London. Awarded "Best Portfolio of the Year" 1987.
