Louise Balaam has exhibited regularly in major national exhibitions for more than twenty years. Her work has been selected for the New English Art Club Annual Exhibition from 2004 onwards, and for the Royal West of England Academy's Annual Exhibition every year since 2004. She has shown several times at the Discerning Eye (2005-11, 2016, 2017, 2023) and at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2017).
Her paintings have also featured in the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize exhibitions (2014-16, 2018), the Threadneedle Prize (2009, 2011), the Royal Society of British Artists (2009, 2010), and the Contemporary Work on Paper Fair at the Royal Academy (2007).
Her earlier career included selection for the Hunting Art Prize (2005) and Fresh Art, Islington (2002-2003), along with participation in curated exhibitions such as Three Outstanding Landscape Artists (2022) and various thematic shows focusing on contemporary landscape practice. She has been invited as Selector for the Landscape Open in Salisbury for 2025 and received the Odin Trust Prize at the Royal West of England Academy in 2010.
