Original lithographic poster, printed in 1954 by Mourlot, Paris for Toulouse-Lautrec’s 1955 exhibition at Maison de la Pensee. Laid on linen for museum conservation.

This lithograph reproduces Toulouse-Lautrec’s distinctive poster style, originally celebrated for its combination of vivid colour, bold line, and urban sophistication.

Issued in 1954, it draws on Lautrec’s late 19th-century work depicting Parisian theatre, cabaret, and cultural life, bringing historical and aesthetic significance to mid-20th-century audiences.

The poster captures Lautrec’s mastery of composition and his ability to convey personality and atmosphere through economical means, highlighting his influence on advertising, graphic design, and modern poster art. Its lithographic format preserves the vibrancy and immediacy of the original hand-crafted image, demonstrating the enduring appeal of his visual language.

This special work provides a lens into Parisian culture and the development of the poster as both commercial and artistic medium, bridging historical legacy and modern presentation.
