Own Art
This work evolved gradually, from an inland landscape to become a peninsular. The season is high Spring and even though the evening sun shines, I detected an interesting connection between motifs in the painting: a sense of abandonment.
Often, unintentional outcomes become a better end than intentional ones. It was quite a task to get the sky right, something I have had to work on all my painting life. Skies have to be painted either from photographs or from acquired knowledge: invented. I chose the latter. As usual, everything in the painting is invented and, typically, it is an improvisation.
