NOTE: THIS EXHIBITION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO SATURDAY 10 MAY 2025 DUE TO UNEXPECTEDLY HIGH INTEREST.

After half a century dealing in 19th- and 20th-century paintings, as well as Rembrandt etchings, John Davies, originally of Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, and latterly Moreton-in-Marsh in the same county, reconnected with his earlier self as a painter. His current exhibition, 'Two Aspects of an Artist', is a one-man show devoted to his own work. He describes it as 'high naturalism, highly detailed but not overworked watercolours', together with abstract paintings that represent a new direction for him.' (Huon Mallalieu, Country Life, April 16, 2025 p.145)
